Group Therapy Program

In order to get the most out of your sessions, you will need:

  • A quiet, safe space to talk privately

  • A microphone and camera

  • Stable internet connection

How does it work?

The Elsewhere group therapy program was designed by an Ex-Muslim, for Ex-Muslims.

After meeting you to discuss your needs and preferences, your therapist will allocate you to a group of 4-6 Ex-Muslims from around the world. From there, you will meet for 2-2.5 hours on the same day, at the same time for 6 consecutive weeks using a secure virtual platform.

Over 6 weeks, you will be provided with psychoeducation, take-home resources and a toolkit of evidence-based mental strategies. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to build meaningful connections and have open, honest conversations with like-minded people in a safe and supportive environment.

The fully online program includes:

  • 6 x 2-hour structured group therapy sessions

  • 2 x 50 minute 1:1 counselling sessions (+ 55% off additional sessions)

  • Take-home resources after each session

  • Lifetime access to the Elsewhere virtual community

Program Structure

  • Meet your group members and explore what it means to be you. Together, you’ll reflect on how identity is shaped, how it changes over time, and what it looks like when you reclaim it on your own terms.

  • Learn how thoughts and beliefs are formed and how they can change. Using CBT principles, we’ll explore the brain’s patterns, challenge unhelpful thinking, and create space for new perspectives.

  • Drawing on DBT, this session focuses on understanding and managing difficult emotions. You’ll reflect on past experiences, practice coping strategies and support each other in discovering healthier ways forward.

  • Take a deep dive into the neurology of stress and trauma. Learn how stress impacts your body and mind, and practice strategies to manage it effectively.

  • Explore healthy communication, recognise toxic dynamics and learn to set boundaries. This session helps you strengthen connections that support your wellbeing.

  • Celebrate your growth and learning as a group. Together, you will reflect on where you were, where you are and where you want to go next.
